- 3. Get your certificate – our instructors review the video and email your Abrasive Wheels certificate.
What the course covers
There are many types of abrasive wheel. This course covers cutting-off wheels for hand-held machines such as angle grinders and concrete saws, and grinding wheels for angle grinders – specifically wheel types 27, 41 and 42.
Who is it for?
Anyone who uses or changes discs on an angle grinder or concrete saw: construction workers, groundworkers, plumbers, electricians, fabricators and welders, maintenance staff, farmers and other trades.
Is abrasive wheel training mandatory?
Under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005, employers must make sure staff are trained to use work equipment safely, and the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007 require that people using work equipment receive adequate training. Changing or mounting an abrasive wheel is a job that should only be done by a trained, competent person – which is why most employers and sites ask to see an abrasive wheels certificate.
How much does abrasive wheel training cost?
Our online Abrasive Wheels course is €60, and that includes the theory, the practical assessment of your video and your certificate. There is nothing extra to pay and no need to take a day off to travel to a training centre.
