If you are unemployed & in receipt of social welfare payment you could be entitled to €500 per year for training courses by applying for Technical Employment Support Grant (TESG)

The Process

  • Am application form can be obtained from your DSP Case Officer
  • The Application form for the course must be signed by you and Southsafe Training, then sent back to your case officer with a quotation for the training.
  • The application and quotation is reviewed by you case officer and then approved
  • The grant must be approved and you must be in possession of an approval form from your case officer to complete the course as I must send in this approval form for payment

The purpose of the Scheme

This scheme is designed to fund quick access to short term training or related interventions, obtain/renew certification/permits for individual jobseekers that have identified work opportunities or where Case Officers have identified an immediate skills gap that represents an obstacle to taking up a job offer or accessing other activation interventions.

The scheme is not intended as a direct replacement for the Technical Employment Support Grant (TESG) nor is it designed to substitute training and activation measures that are provided under other programmes and agencies (Solas/Education Training Boards) or actions that are funded as part of other programmes.
